Bulz is a Romanian Dish, which is made quite frequently. It is best eaten warm and with lots of sour cream. The cheese that is used was made from the country side and is ripened in a Christmas Tree bark which makes it taste unique and special.

  • 400 ml water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 200 g Malai/Cornmeal

Cheese

  • 250 g Branza de purduf or other cheese
  • 2 Tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Heat up water in a cooking pot and season your water with salt.
  2. Once the water is boiling add your Cornmeal and stir frequently.
  3. Lower the temperature quickly since the cornmeal pieces can burst over to your hand and potentially burn you.

  8. Use another tablespoon of butter to smooth out the top and garnish with cheese.
  9. You have to ways of melting the cheese which is to broil it in the oven at 200 celcius for 3 minutes or put it in the microwave for 2 minutes on high.
  10. Enjoy it with a nice dollop of sour cream

Notes

Some Romanians like to add meat or a fried egg on top. You can pick whichever makes you happier.
